The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) recently announced the changes to BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) that we have all been waiting for. In what they have called significant changes, a range of changes across the regulations have been confirmed.
On the 2nd July 2018 the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring regulations (BS7671) will be published which will come into force on 1st Jan 2019.
The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, also additions and alterations to existing installations. Existing installations that have been installed in accordance with earlier editions of the Regulations may not comply with this edition in every respect. This does not necessarily mean that they are unsafe for continued use or require upgrading.
Electrical contractors, electricians and others who work within the electrical industry can implement the new regulations as soon as they come out.
An ability to show a level of understanding and awareness of the changes should be a priority for everyone involved in the industry. With this in mind we will be running a series of BS7671 Logic Approved Courses
