Domestic Electrical Training and Assessments for New Entrants to the Electrical Industry
Our Level 3 Domestic Electrical Package has been designed with the career changer/ new entrant in mind and this is the perfect way to start your career as a domestic electrician. On successful completion you will have not only gained the qualifications but the skills and knowledge required to be able to start your work with an electrical contractor or even set up and run your own electrical business.
The course starts from the beginning with an in depth look at the regulations and requirements, as well as all the practical skills you will need.
This complete package runs for 20 days over a 5-week period (Monday to Thursday)
Weeks 1 & 2: Theory and Practical Training
This is a start from the beginning, looking through the theory with realistic working environment practical sessions. Including; design wiring, inspections and testing of consumer units, ring circuits, radial and lighting circuits.
Week 3: Domestic Electrical Installer
This is a comprehensive walk through the IET on site guide with special attention to completing certificates and paperwork, understanding of the results and what they mean with using a multifunction tester on live installations. Finishing the week with practical and theory assessments.
Week 4: BS7671:2018 & PAT Testing
A comprehensive look the regs book with an understanding of how it works, followed by an online assessment. With PAT Testing training & assessments to finish the week off.
Week 5: Initial Inspection & Verification
Recapping all that you have learnt with the emphasis on Inspection and Testing of New Installations covering, certification and competent person scheme requirements.
There is no requirement to complete an onsite portfolio with our package. However, once you have completed all the training and assessments, we can arrange onsite work experience for you if requested. it would be costed according to individual requirements.
Some people will say that you can not register with a competent person scheme and that it is a waste of money and you will need to get someone in to certificate your work etc etc…

This package of regulated Level 3 Qualifications ticks all the required boxes for registration to a Competent Person Scheme. With these qualifications you can also inspect and test, certificate and register other peoples work.
- Domestic Electrical Installer (2018). This is everything you need for the domestic property. it allows you to inspect, test and certificate your own work and combined with 18th Edition, it allows registration to a Competent Person Scheme.
- LCL Award – Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671:2018. This is 18th Edition and covers the regulations. This is a requirement for registration to a Competent Person Scheme.
- LCL Award – Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations. Initial Test and Inspect will give you the skills to Inspect, Test and Certificate new installations with the ability to sign off other peoples work.
- LCL Award – Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT Testing). PAT Testing; anything on a plug, plus it now covers appliances that are hard wired to circuits.
There are no hidden costs with us. Everything is included and once your deposits are paid, you can collect all your training material and manuals to start studying straight away, if you wish. All tools are provided whilst in centre and you are more than welcome to use them. There is plenty of tea and coffee with good quality biscuits available all day also.
The complete package cost is: £3,300 Inc. VAT
Payment terms are easy too, 10% is required on booking with a further 40% to be paid within 2 Weeks of booking and the remaining 50% due 2 weeks prior to the course date.
