When coupled with the BS7671-2018 (18th Edition) course, this course enables electrical engineers to certify their own works by qualifying them to produce minor works certificates. It provides a greater understanding for gas engineers and plumbers, allowing a broader scope of work to offer customers.
Domestic Electrical Installer (DEI)
The Domestic Electrical Installer (DEI) qualification allows learners to demonstrate that they have up to date knowledge of latest IEE wiring regulations.
The qualification may be required as a prerequisite to other electrical courses and when joining some Competent Persons Schemes.
When coupled with the 18th Edition (BS7671) course, this course enables engineers to certify their own works by qualifying them to issue minor works certificates. It provides a greater understanding for gas engineers and plumbers, allowing a broader scope of work to offer customers.
There are no formal requirements to undertake the course however learners should have a working knowledge of practical and theoretical electrics.
Learners will cover modules from the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations as well as the following:

- Definitions and Basic Principles
- Design Specification & Cable Installation
- Mains Position
- Earthing & Bonding
- Safety Devices
- Safe Isolation and Working Practice
- Power & Lighting Circuits
- Inspection, Testing and Certification (both Minor Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates)
Classroom based training and home study followed by in centre assessment
