All our Gas Safe Registered Trainers and Assessors are experienced professionals and have carried out numerous years of onsite work across the trades. They are hand picked for their knowledge, experience and passion to teach and their desire to pass on their expertise to the next generation of energy engineers. Class sizes are kept deliberately small in order to create a personal coaching environment in which everyone is offered a top quality learning experience.
Our New Entrants Gas Foundation Courses aim to take the inexperienced / novice or New Entrants students to a highly ACS qualified gas engineer in 8 weeks having completed the ACS gas exams. Following the ACS exams, successful candidates can apply to be registered on the GAS SAFE register The first two weeks of the NEW Entrants domestic Gas course will offer solely plumbing based learning to ensure there is a solid base to start from, before venturing into a 6 week Domestic Gas training programme during which they will complete their portfolio of evidence off site with a qualified gas engineer. At the end of the first 2 weeks, they will have earned qualifications such as Water Regulations, Unvented Hot Water Systems and Part L – Energy Efficiency.
The following 6 weeks of Gas Foundation course covers all the theory, practical and On-site, hands on learning and experience required by law to become a Qualified Gas Safe Registered Engineer. We guarantee to provide you the opportunity to build your On and Off site portfolio during the 6 weeks – Something that can often be extremely difficult to find a Gas Safe Registered engineer willing to offer time to help if its outside of our Gas Foundation Programme. You will then return to the Training Centre where the Trainer/ Assessor will ensure they are assured of the quality of the portfolio write up and the quantity of jobs you have complete on-site, ensuring the on-site portfolio matrix has been fully completed. Once your Portfolio has been approved and signed off you will be entered into your APL (Approved Prior Learning) Exams, on successful completion of these, your 6th (or 8th) and final week of this Foundation Course will be spent on the ACS (Approved Competency Scheme) Exams. Which, when successfully completed, you can go on to apply for Gas Safe Registration.
Hampshire Training and Assessments looks to offer the best and brightest future(s) to all the students that enter our Centre. We also offer Green Energy, Renewables Including Biomass and Solar PV, GDA (Green Deal Advisor) and DEA (Domestic Energy Assessor) Courses. As Government funding for promoters and homeowners who invest in Greener living is rapidly climbing to new heights the opportunity for work is following suit, by attending one of our many Green and/or Renewables courses you will be able to capture huge customer bases in the early days before Green/Energy Efficiency becomes mandatory. Building a reputation which will only increase the level of work that is available, which will put you leaps ahead of engineers that are waiting for the Government to make it statutory for all new builds to use renewable energy sources and have much higher levels of energy efficiency, to then start building a reputation for the work.
People from all over the UK who want to either enhance their skills or embark on a new career have been trained and assessed by our team over the years.
